#StaySafeStopVape

Welcome to the Anti Vaping Effort

What is our Message?

The Anti Vaping Effort is trying to convey the harmful effects of vape.
We speak up about the major health concerns, both physical and mental.

What do we do?

Our outreach extends to three main places: local posters, Instagram, and this website.
These local posters can be seen in the video embedded below.
Please feel free to head over to our instagram (@theave.official) to print and place them yourself to join the cause!

So what's so bad about vapes anyway?

There are tons of issues when it comes to vapes and health, but here are some very important points (ones that are touched on in the posters too)

The Issue of Nicotine

The main problem with nicotine is that it's addictive (I'm sure you've all heard this a million times).
The thing with vapes though is that they contain 20 times the nicotine of a regular cigarette.
That is seriously a lot.
These levels of nicotine easily lead to addictions after a short time.
And it is also worth noting the fact that many shrug off nicotine saying, "oh but I'll be fine I won't get addicted."
Well the truth is, you certainly will.
These devices have been engineered for years specifically to addict.

The Presence of Carcinogens

Carcinogens are substances that are known to cause cancer.
You may have heard of formaldehyde before and whether or not you know what it is just know that it does not belong in your lungs.
Many carcinogens come in the vapor of vapes and they all can have terrible affects on your body.
In fact, some of the chemicals in vapes are used in antifreeze and weed killer.
If that doesn't sound unhealthy for a human lung then I don't know what does.
It's not just the carcinogens that are large hazards either; there are plenty of other harmful chemicals in there too.
Take diacetyl for instance which causes the notorious popcorn lung (look it up if you don't know what it is).
Overall, there's all sorts of nasty chemicals in vapes that you are better off without.

The Contamination of Heavy Metals

The third major issue is the contamination of heavy metals into the vapor.
You see, the way vapes work is that they heat a liquid with a coil and more often then not the coil (which is made of various alloys) will leech metal into the vapor.
This can lead to you inhaling nickel, lead, tin, arsenic, and other not so good things.
It should go without saying why it is bad to have metal in your lungs.
Some of those metals are simply posions.
Take lead and arsenic, these are toxic to the body on their own save being inside of one's lungs.
Overall it is just not a great time to have these contaminants in your lungs and inhaling them will end up leading to permanent damage.
